Thunderstorms are possible across the KVOE listening area between Tuesday night and Thursday afternoon.
Most of our area should avoid any severe weather Tuesday night, but western Chase and Morris counties could see stronger storms overnight.
Meanwhile, confidence is increasing for severe weather across most of eastern Kansas, including the KVOE listening area, for Wednesday. TV-13 Weathercaster Peyton Sanders tells KVOE News all modes of severe weather will be possible.
Confidence is not quite as high for possible severe weather activity Thursday, although storms could form near Emporia and push to the east starting by early afternoon.
If storms develop as anticipated, all severe weather hazards would be possible Tuesday night, Wednesday and Thursday.

6:30 am Tuesday: Marginal risk Tuesday night, enhanced risk Wednesday, slight risk Thursday
Thunderstorm chances begin picking up Tuesday across the KVOE listening area, and so does the risk of stronger activity.
TV-13 meteorologist Doug Meyers says most of our area should avoid any severe weather Tuesday night, with the greater risk of strong storms from north-central Kansas to the east along the Kansas-Nebraska state line. If storms do enter our area, hail would be the main concern.
Wednesday’s potential is based on some degree on what happens Tuesday night.
Regardless, Meyers says there could be an extended window for possible severe weather Wednesday.
There is currently an enhanced risk of severe weather for Wednesday. All severe weather hazards are possible. Meyers says any tornado risk would likely be relatively early in the event with discrete or separated storms, and the risk should transition to a hail-wind event as storms form into clusters or line segments later in the day or evening.
There is now a slight risk for Thursday as well, and Wednesday’s activity could play a major role in how Thursday’s storms develop. Thursday is currently being considered another all-hazards day.
