With spring finally here community members are being given the chance to get closer to nature.
The Tallgrass Prairie National Preserve has begun its annual May bus tours. Heather Brown of the National Preserve was a recent guest on KVOE’s Newsmaker program and took time to explain what passengers will see on the tour.
Volunteers are still wanted for the month of May anyone interested should contact the Preserve at 620-273-8494.
Tour hours are as follows:
Monday-Friday 11 am
Saturday and Sunday 11 am and 1 pm.
Each tour lasts between an hour to an hour and a half and all tour buses are equipped with wheelchair lifts. Participants are reminded to bring water with them on the tour. For more information visit www.nps.gov.
