Barring extra time and a special session, state lawmakers could be finished with their work Friday.
Recently, KVOE News concluded its legislative update series with 60th District Representative Mark Schreiber of Emporia. Schreiber was in favor of the education funding package that gained House, Senate and gubernatorial approval earlier this month, and even with an $80 million funding tweak finalized Saturday, he believes the economy is now going strong enough so a tax increase won’t be needed to pay for it.
The House also passed a budget bill Friday. Schreiber says this session has been a challenge because more agencies are requesting more money.
