Shawnee Heights swept a doubleheader from the Emporia High baseball team Friday.
Shawnee Heights won game 1 of the doubleheader 11-0. Shawnee Heights won the second game 5-3. Emporia High Coach Anthony Markowtiz said they did show improvement in the 2nd game.
The Spartans had the tying run on in the bottom of the 7th of game 2 when Coach Anthony Markowitz used a courtesy runner, who had already played a position and been replaced in the game and was called out for the final out of the game. The Spartans will host Topeka Hayden Tuesday in a doubleheader.
