Emporia Fire Crews were called out to a reported structure fire early Sunday morning.
Fire crews were dispatched to an apartment complex located at 1010 East Street after reports of smoke coming from windows. Upon arrival fire crews noticed smoke coming from a second-floor window but no flames. Upon further investigation, the cause of the smoke was found to be a pile of clothes which had ignited inside a laundry room dryer. According to firefighters on scene, the flames were quickly extinguished and no injuries were reported.
The cause of the dryer malfunction is still under investigation.
