One of Emporia’s premiere yearly events is heating up this week.
Roughly 1,600 disc golfers from around the world have begun descending on Emporia for the 16th annual Glass Blown Open Tournament and its week-long list of activities. It’s the largest such tournament of its kind. Dynamic Discs Founder and CEO Jeremy Rusco says each year, the city continues to embrace the event.
Practice rounds are ongoing leading up to the main activities which begin on Thursday. In addition, the opening ceremonies on Wednesday have a new, larger venue. Event Coordinator Doug Bjeerkas.
Player check-in remains at the Granada and begins at 9 am Wednesday.
