The Emporia High Ladies were outscored by Wichita East 5-1 Friday.
The Lady Spartans opened the scoring five minutes into the first half off an own goal by the Blue Aces. Wichita East would then even the game with a goal in the tenth minute of play. Three more goals in the first would give Wichita a 4-1 lead heading into half-time
In the second it was more of the same as Wichita limited the Lady Spartans to just three shots on goal. A goal in the second by junior Maritza Cabrales sealed the win for the Blue Aces.
Lady Spartans Head Coach Oscar Macias says their biggest issue was they were facing a tough team.
Emporia sophomore goalkeeper Anyssa Hammond had 17 saves off 22 shots.
With the loss, the Lady Spartans now fall to 3-8 on the season. They will next face Topeka West at home Monday for senior night.
