THORNDALE — A small tractor in Thorndale was destroyed by fire Friday morning.
Emporia Fire Battalion Chief Rich Gould says fire crews were called to 7 Bodock Road shortly before 11:20 am. Gould says the unnamed operator reported mowing his property when the engine stopped. He looked down and noticed fire under the tractor.
The fire destroyed the tractor and also caused a small grass fire nearby. Both were put out quickly by fire crews.
There were no injuries.
