Totals are finalizing for auctions held over the weekend.
The final total for the Night of Inspiration will go down as a record-breaker for scholarships at Flint Hills Technical College, generating $117,000. Vice President of Advancement Mike Crouch thanked the community for supporting students and the college.
Last year’s effort generated a then-record $105,000. Crouch says plans are already being discussed for next year’s event.
Meanwhile, organizers of the Sacred Heart School Bid-N-Bite Auction are smiling as well. Totals there are not final, but the event will net over $30,000. Organizer Valerie Wilhelmsen says proceeds have helped the school in several ways in years past.
Wilhelmsen says students have a vested interest in the auction. Not only do they benefit, but they also participate every year — creating artwork or other auction items and also putting together the bid paddles.
