The 11th annual Laps for Landon cystic fibrosis fundraiser will take place Tuesday night.
All proceeds from the special walk fundraiser will benefit the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, which helps to find new methods to treat the disease and lends assistance to families and patients it affects. One such breakthrough includes a special vest that CF patients wear which helps to break up mucus in the lungs, a piece of equipment which did not exist just thirty years ago.
ESU Health Promotions Professor Dr. Jennifer Thomas explains how this research has lessened the burden CF places on patients and their families.
Prizes for the auction include a Royals ticket package, a new grill and an entry into the Lunar Kanza bike ride. The Lazy Butt Barbecue Crew will also be returning to serve barbecue sandwiches during the event.
The fundraiser will begin at 6 pm on the Welch Stadium track at ESU.
