The Kansas City Royals have placed outfielder Alex Gordon on the 10-day disabled list (retroactive to Monday) with a left-hip labral tear.
As a result, the Royals have recalled outfielder Abraham Almonte from Triple-A Omaha to take his place on the roster. Almonte was claimed off waivers from the Cleveland Indians on April 2.
