The Emporia State softball team split a doubleheader with Washburn Saturday.
Washburn won the first game 8-0 in 5 innings. Washburn scored 2 runs in the first and added 6 runs in the 2nd. Emporia State was shutout on 4 hits. Emporia State won the 2nd game 9-7 in 8 innings. Annie Rockley led the offense going 3 for 4 at the plate, and drove in 4 runs. She hit a solo homerun in the 5th. Drove in 2 runs with a single in the 6th. In the 8th she singled in the go ahead run and scored an insurance run.
The Lady Hornets play at Fort Hays State next Friday.
