Washburn swept the Emporia State softball team in a doubleheader Friday.
Washburn won the first game 4-0. The game was scoreless until the 4th inning when Washburn scored the games first run. Washburn added 2 runs in the 6th and a run in the 7th. Emporia State was shutout on 4 hits. They stranded 6 base runners.
In the second game Washburn scored 2 runs in the 1st inning and added 4 runs in the 3rd inning. Emporia State scored their lone run in the 3rd inning. Of Washburns 6 runs only 1 was earned. Emporia State committed 6 errors. Emporia State Coach April Rosales says they need to be better offensively.
Emporia State and Washburn will play a doubleheader in Topeka Saturday.
