The Emporia State softball team was out scored by #7 Winona State 8-7 in 11 innings in the final game of the Emporia State hosted St. Patrick’s Classic Sunday.
It was a back and forth game. Emporia State took the early 1-0 lead scoring on an error. Winona State scored 3 runs in the top of hte 3rd. Before Emporia Start scored 3 runs in the bottom of the bottom of the 5th. 2 runs scored on a Destiny Ojigoh single. Winona State tied the game in the 6th. Both teams scored a run in the 7th and both scored 2 runs in the 10th before Winona scored the go ahead run in the top of the 11th inning.
Emporia State finished the tournament with 1 and 4 record. The Lady Hornets travel to St. Charles, Mo. to take on Lindenwood in MIAA conference action Friday.
