The State High School basketball tournaments begin Wednesday at 8 locations. 4 area teams will play their first round games.
At the 2A tournament in Manhattan the Olpe girls play Spearville in the 6:30 game. Olpe Coach Jesse Nelson hopes they enjoy the experience.
Coach Nelson says Spearville will be no pushover.
The game will be broadcast on Country 101.7FM and on-line at kvoe.com.
At the 1A Division II tournament in Dodge City the Waverly boys play Northern Valley in the 3pm game. Waverly Coach Mike Hevel it comes down to players making plays.
At the 1A Division I tournament in Hays the Southern Coffey County boys plays St. John-Hudson in the 4:45 game.
At the 3A tournament in Hutchinson the Council Grove boys play Maur Hill.
The 4A Division II tournament will be played at Emporias White Auditorium with girls first round games.
3pm Marysville plays Nickerson
4:45p Andale vs Hayden
6:30p Baldwin vs Frontenac
8:15p Hugoton vs Baxter Springs.
The 4A Division I tournament will be played in Salina.
The 5A tournament will be played in Topeka at the Expo Center.
The 6A tournament will be played in Wichita at Koch Arena
