The United States picked up 6 more medals Wednesday at the Rio Olympics. Two were Gold Kristin Armstrong in the womens Cycling road time trials and another swimming gold the womens 4×200 free relay.
Wednesdays results:
Womens basketball defeated Serbia 110-84.
Mens basketball out scored Australia 98-88.
Womens volleyball defeated Serbia 3-1.
Mens water polo defeated France 6-3.
Womens field hockey defeated Japan 6-1.
In the mens gymnastics Individual All-Around Team USA captain Chris Brooks finished in 14th place. Brooks was born in Emporia. He is the son of the late Larry Brooks who graduated from Emporia High in 1973 and was a member of the Emporia High gymnastics team. Larry passed away in 2008 after an automobile accident.
Thursdays schedule:
Golf begins. The womens gymnastics individual All-Around competition. Womens volleyball plays Brazil and 4 more gold medal swims, the womens 200 breaststoke and 100 free. The mens 200 back and 200 IM.
