The Emporia State softball team split a doubleheader with McKendree Monday.
McKendree won the first game 3-0. Emporia STate won the 2nd game 5-4. The Lady Hornets scored all 5 runs in the 1st inning. Danielle Sprinkle drove in the first run with a sacrific fly. McKenna Davis singled in a run and a run scored on an error. Hailey Cope doubled in a run and Cassidy Beem doubled in a run. The Lady Hornets will open MIAA Friday when they host Central Oklahoma.
