The Emporia State baseball team completed the sweep of a 3 game series with Newman Sunday, out scoring the Jets 10-7. The Hornets trailed most of the game until scoring 7 runs in the 7th inning.
Bryce Fischer drove in two of the runs with a single.
Fischer finished going 3 for 5 with 3 RBI. Two of the runs in the 7th scored on bases loaded walks. The Hornets have now won 6 in a row. They are 6-4 for the season. Coach Bob Fronelli says its nice to be winning, but there is work to be done.
