The Emporia High basketball teams wrapped up the regular season Saturday at Topeka High.
The Lady Spartans were out scored by Topeka 43-36. Taylor Milleson led Emporia High with 16 points. The Lady Spartans will play at Wichita Heights Wednesday in the Sub-State semi-finals. That game will tip off at 7pm. The winner will play either Bishop Carroll or Topeka West for a trip to State next Saturday.
The Emporia High boys were out scored 61-57 by Topeka High. It was a back and forth game. Emporia High led 15-11 after the first quarter. Trailed 30-27 at halftime. Led 40-39 going to the 4th quarter. Dylan Farr was the leading scorer for Emporia High with 17 points. Brent Hastert added 12 points. The Emporia High boys will host Maize South Tuesday in the sub-state semi-finals. Tip-off at Emporia High is set for 7pm. The winner will play either Wichita Heights or Salina South Friday for the trip to the 5A State tournament.
In a play in game for the Wabaunsee 2A Sub-state, Wabaunse out scored Northern Heights 47-40. Wabaunsee will play at Lyndon Tuesday in a first round game.
