The Kansas Jayhawks have earned a spot in the Final 4 after defeating Duke 85-81, in overtime in the Midwest Regional Final Sunday.
Coach Bill Self called it an Epic game.
Svi Mykhailiuk drained a three to tie the score with 26 seconds left in regulation to send the game to overtime.
In the overtime Malik Newman scored 13 of his game high 32 points. He was the only Jayhawk to score in overtime.
Newman was named the Midwest Region’s Most Outstanding Player.
Lagerald Vick added 14 points, Devonte Graham finished with 11 points. Svi Mykhailiuk scored 11 points and grabbed 10 rebounds.
The Jayhawks are headed to the Final Four for the 15th time in program history.
They will face Villanova in the semi-finals Saturday. That game is set for a 7:49 Tip-off.
Villanova out scored Texas Tech 71-59.
The other semi-final has Loyola Chicago playing Michigan. Tip-off for that game has been set for 3:30p
