The USD 253 Board of Education has a lot of business on the agenda for its regular meeting Wednesday night.
At the end of the meeting, board members will have yet another executive session to evaluate the performance of Superintendent Kevin Case. Two weeks ago, the board voted 4-3 to retain Case after several prior executive sessions on the topic. There is no word on what’s prompting board members to have this additional executive session. Additional executive sessions for personnel and negotiations are also planned.
Separately, board members will field an update on the district’s emergency operations plan after board member Mike Helbert demanded action during a meeting last month, saying implementation of changes recommended in 2016 had been slow. Board members could also select an architect for an upcoming facilities needs assessment, and they will get an update on teacher recruitment and retention.
The meeting starts at 7 pm at Mary Herbert.
