The Emporia Public Library’s annual worm races moved inside the library for the first time in years because of showers in the area. Still, a big crowd of kids and parents crammed into the library’s large meeting room for the event.
River Doemland won with his worm, “Bennett.”

Doemland was followed by Sam Hauff and “Wormy” and Katie Smart and “Zak.” Well over 40 entries participated this year.
