The Emporia Police Department is asking for information on a hit and run case involving a vehicle and bicyclist Tuesday afternoon.
According to Emporia Police Sgt. Lisa Hayes, around 3:45 pm Tuesday, authorities were called to the 700 block of West 6th Ave. in Emporia for a hit and run. According to Hayes, 38-year-old Zachary Holub was riding his bicycle westbound on West Sixth when a vehicle struck him on his left shoulder causing him to crash.
Holub suffered reported minor injuries but refused an ambulance at the scene.
The suspect vehicle fled the scene after the accident, however, a passenger-side mirror from the vehicle was found at the scene. Police have determined the suspect vehicle may be a black Ford Explorer or other Ford SUV.
