The Osage County Sheriff’s Office honored three deputies for two different episodes of life-saving work Monday.
Deputies Clayton Hartpence, Cory Hamilton and Christian Moran were honored for their work earlier this year. Sheriff Chris Wells says the trio is an example of his department staff.
The first episode happened Feb. 25 in Scranton involving an unresponsive resident. Hamilton and Moran were first to the scene, discovered the patient had no pulse and immediately began CPR to revive the person.
The second incident happened March 24 on Interstate 35 after a vehicle ran over its occupant, leading to severe leg injuries. Hartpence used a tourniquet to stabilize the person until advanced medical attention could take place.
