Work is underway to realign a state highway in Osage County.
The Kansas Department of Transportation says the realignment will involve Kansas Highway 31 and will stretch from Osage City’s eastern city limit to US Highway 75.
The project will happen in two stages. KDOT says the first phase will not affect drivers. The second phase, however, will need traffic control. Those plans will be released later.
Work will take place weekdays and on some Saturdays during daytime hours. The current schedule has the project ending by December, weather permitting.
Bettis Asphalt & Construction of Topeka won the project with a $15 million bid.
