As the COVID-19 pandemic continues, Lyon County commissioners have another decision ahead on the county’s response to the virus.
During their action meeting Thursday, commissioners will discuss whether to extend the current disaster declaration into early June. The declaration is important because it helps Lyon County gain access to state and federal aid.
Commissioners have taken several actions over the past month to turn mitigation mandates on mask use, social distancing and mass gatherings into strong recommendations.
In other business, commissioners may approve the annual security contract with Silverson Security. They will also review annual reports from County Engineer Chip Woods and CrossWinds Counseling and Wellness Chief Executive Officer Amanda Cunningham.
The meeting starts at 9 am in the County Courthouse.
