Not much is changing in terms of COVID-19 mitigation for local healthcare providers and pharmacies.
While mask use is now optional in the county following action by Lyon County Commissioners nearly two weeks ago, Haag Pharmacy is still requiring it inside their main lobby. Owner Amber Haag says they have not had any issues with customers adhering to the business’s mask policy.
In recent weeks there have been mixed reviews regarding the county’s decision. Haag says she respects the county’s stance on the matter and feel each individual business has to do what they feel best meets their immediate needs.
At Newman Regional Health, CEO Bob Wright says they are and will continue to follow the recommendations of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
Wright says the hospital is not planning to alter its visitation restrictions at this time. He says that decision may be revisited if the area sees a sudden spike in coronavirus cases in the near future.
At this time, patients are allowed to have two visitors in their room at a time with visiting hours running from 6 am to 8 pm daily.
