The Cleveland Indians outscored the Kansas City Royals 8-6 Monday night.
Whit Merrifield hit a 2 run home run in the 4th to give the Royals a 3-1 lead. Cleveland broke a 3-3 tie with 5 runs in the 7th inning.
Hunter Dozier hit a 2 run home run in the 7th to help cut the deficit to 8-6.
Daniel Lynch in his Major League Debut went 4.2 innings giving up 3 runs on 4 hits. He struck out 3 and walked 4.
Jakob Junis took the loss giving up 5 runs on 4 hits.
The Royals and Cleveland play again Tuesday night with Mike Minor making the start for the Royals. The first pitch is set for 7:10.
