Ducks Unlimited already has plans for millions of dollars in federal grant funds announced late last month, as biologist Jim Pitman explains.
Kansas Senator Roger Marshall announced $2 million in grant funding with a better than $2 million matching amount also included. Pitman says the actual acreage is double that amount, with over 2,000 acres set aside for wetlands — DU’s main focus.
Pitman says the funding announced last week has already been earmarked, but there will be another funding cycle in July. Interested landowners can go online to www.ducks.org/kansas or email jpitman@ducks.org for information. Landowners can also call Pitman at 620-704-4758.
