The Emporia State track and field teams picked up 10 Individual Championships and 3 provisional qualifiers for nationals at the Fort Hays State hosted Alex Francis Invitational Friday.
For the women, Linnea Meier won the 800-meter run.
Kennedy Smith placed 1st in the 400 hurdles.
The 4 by 100 and 4 by 400 relays finished in 1st place.
Alyssa Conway won the hammer throw in a field that included 3 top 12 throwers in the nation. Her throw did not break her school record but was a provisional qualifier.
Clara Eilert finished 3rd in the high jump with a provisional jump for nationals.
For the men-
Joshua McLaughlin took first in the 110 hurdles, Chase Rooney had the fastest time in the 400 hurdles.
The 4 by 100 and 4 by 400 relays finished in 1st place.
Travis Morrison won the shot put with a throw of 59 feet 2.75 inches. He moved up to eighth on the national list as of Friday night. He is just the third Hornet to go over 18 meters in the shot put.
Next week the Emporia State Track and Field teams will be competing at the MIAA outdoor championships.
