Lyon County closed out the work week with its third straight increase in active COVID-19 cases Friday.
Public Health reported nine new cases Friday bringing the overall total to 4,239 since late last March. There were no new recoveries reported raising the active total to 29 reflecting a total increase of 16 active cases since Monday.
The rise in active cases follows a steady decline in cases between Apr. 16 and Monday that saw the total drop as low as 13.
No new deaths were reported keeping the death count at 84 with one case still pending final cause information from the Kansas Department of Health and Environment.
There are two active hospitalizations in Lyon County at this time.
