(ku) The University of Kansas has announced the hiring of Lance Leipold to be the 41st Head Football Coach in KU history.
Lance Leipold is a six-time National Champion, a five-time conference coach of the year, and the fastest coach in NCAA history to reach 100 career wins. The two sides agreed to a six-year contract.
Leipold arrives at Kansas after a successful six-year stay at Buffalo, wherein his final three seasons he posted three straight winning seasons for the first time in 20 years. He won 24 games over the final three seasons, which included a seven-game shortened-season schedule in 2020 because of the COVID-19 pandemic, marking the most successful three-year run in Buffalo history.
He takes over for Les Miles who was fired in March.
