Since the vaccination process started for COVID-19, most venues have needed appointments. That’s not the case for veterans, spouses and caregivers for Wednesday’s vaccination clinic at the American Legion Post 5.
Local veteran Ron Whitney says Kansas Senator Jerry Moran was instrumental in making the event happen on short notice. He says the Legion is proud to be a host site.
The clinic is from 2:30-6:30 pm. Veterans, spouses and caregivers can go online to pre-register. Click here for the link. Veterans can also call 800-574-8387 extension 54453 to schedule a slot.
Veterans do not need to be enrolled for VA Health Care, but all veterans are encouraged to call 785-350-4511 or go online to www.va.gov to start the eligibility and enrollment process.
The Legion will also host a revaccination clinic next month. The date for that has not been announced.
