The Emporia State softball team will try to take a step closer to qualifying for the MIAA Tournament Sunday when they play a doubleheader at Washburn.
The Lady Hornets are in 9th place in the MIAA standings, 2 games out of 8th place with 8 games to play. The top 8 teams will advance to the MIAA tournament.
Senior catcher Cassidy Beem is hoping to build off of last week when they won 3 of 4 games, including a win over first-place Central Oklahoma.
After Sundays doubleheader at Washburn, the Lady Hornets play a doubleheader at Missouri Southern on Monday.
