Emporia State will have 31 athletes competing in 24 events at the 111th Drake Relays beginning Friday.
Hayden Goodpaster will run in the 200-meter dash and as part of the Sprint Medley Relay and the 4 by 400 relay.
Jazmine Hurla will be a part of the 4 by 400 relay, distance medley relay, and sprint medley relay.
After the first day of competition, Emporia State had 1 champion, 5 top 5 finishes, and 1 event that qualified for the finals.
The womens sprint medley relay team of Clarice Nichols, Ashley Wildeman, Jasmine Hurla, and Linnea Meier finished in 1st place.
The mens sprint medley relay team of Juwan Johnson, Hayden Goodpaster, Brandon Rhone, and Jared Reinke finished in 4th place.
The mens 4 by 100 relay team of Juwan Johnson, Jack Watson, Billy Ross Jr, and Hayden Goodpaster qualified for the finals.
Matthew Maki finished 2nd in the 5000-meter run.
Allie Barrett tied for 3rd in the pole vault.
Jazmin Williams finished in 5th place in the long jump.
Holly Brockmeier finished 5th in the javelin.
