It was heartbreak afternoon for the Emporia State soccer team. Central Oklahoma slipped past the Lady Hornets 1-0 in the semi-finals of the MIAA Spring Crossover Tournament Thursday.
Central Oklahoma scored the lone goal of the match with just over 10 minutes to play in the 2nd half.
Emporia State had their chances outshooting Central 9-4 on goal. Emporia State Coach Bryan Sailer said they did everything right except score.
The loss is the first of the spring for the Lady Hornets. Coach Sailer says it has been a good spring.
Central Oklahoma will play Missouri Western for the Spring Championship. Missouri Western defeated Northeastern State on penalty kicks.
Emporia State and Northeastern State have agreed not to play the 3rd place match.
