The Emporia City Commission may formally approve a new document focused on addressing the local housing shortage Wednesday evening.
The city’s new Housing Development and Rural Housing Incentive District policy will be up for approval during the commission’s upcoming action session. Commissioners have been working diligently with city staff and outside consultants to develop the policy over the past several months.
In a separate but related item, commissioners will consider giving an RHID designation to the Kretsinger Tract.
Zoning matters will be the major focus for the remainder of the meeting with three requests for the annexation of land up for consideration.
The meeting will begin at 7 pm inside the Municipal Courtroom at White Auditorium.
