Newman defeated the Emporia State womens and mens tennis teams in duels Monday.
Newman won the womens duel 5-2. The Emporia State women won all 3 doubles matches to earn the doubles point. In singles play, Emma Biggs won at number 6 singles.
Newman won the mens duel 5-2. For Emporia State, Taylor Nelson won at number 2 singles and Harrison Brown won at number 4 singles.
That wraps up MIAA play for the men they finish conference play 0-3.
The women are 0-6 in MIAA they still have matches with Nebraska Kearney and Fort Hays State. Those duels will be played Saturday and Sunday.
Both the women and men are scheduled to play at Bethel on Wednesday.
