The Emporia State baseball team split a doubleheader with Missouri Western Saturday.
Emporia State won the first game 5-1.
Brady Michel hit a 2 run home run and Brigham Mooney hit a solo home run.
Jake Barton was the winning pitcher giving up 1 run on 5 hits with 10 strikeouts.
Missouri Western won the 2nd game 6-4 in 10 innings.
Blake Carroll hit a solo home run in the 9th as the Hornets rallied to tie the game at 4. Western would score 2 runs on a home run in the 10th inning.
Emporia State Coach Seth Wheeler says they need to find a way to win the series.
Emporia State and Missouri Western wrap up their 3 game series Sunday afternoon with the first pitch set for noon at the Trusler Sports Complex.
