Lyon County closed out the work week with a decrease in active COVID-19 cases and a decrease in the county’s death count.
The death count dipped Friday from 85 to 84 as according to Emergency Preparedness Director Jennifer Millbern, Public Health discovered a death had been improperly identified and has since been corrected.
One case is still pending final cause information from the Kansas Department of Health and Environment.
Five new cases were reported Friday bringing the overall total since last March to 4,208. 14 recoveries saw the active case total dip to 20 after being as high as 28 both Monday and Wednesday.
There are no active hospitalizations at this time.
