Patchy frost is possible early Thursday, and as a result the National Weather Service has posted frost advisories for the entire KVOE listening area.
Lyon, Coffey, Morris, Osage and Wabaunsee counties are in an advisory from 1-8 am, while Chase and Greenwood counties are in a separate advisory from 3-8 am. Overnight lows could reach 32 degrees in some areas, with some places — including Emporia — seeing lows in the mid-30s.
People are encouraged to cover plants or take other steps to avoid frost damage or frost kill.
