On Tuesday, Haag Pharmacy tentatively canceled its coronavirus vaccination clinics for this week after clotting concerns developed with the Johnson & Johnson variety. Now that the pharmacy has lined up another option, this week’s clinics are back on the table.
Haag will have Moderna vaccine primary doses available Thursday, Friday and Saturday, and pharmacy owner Amber Haag is encouraging people not to wait to get vaccinated until the Johnson & Johnson single-shot variety is allowed. Haag says her business received 100 Moderna doses from Flint Hills Community Health Center to facilitate the clinics.
Vaccine slots are available from 9 am to 6 pm Thursday, 9 am to 5 pm Friday and 9 am to 2 pm Saturday. People can self-schedule online at www.haagpharmacy.com.
In addition to Haag Pharmacy, Graves Drugs also has doses of the Moderna vaccine on hand. Vaccinations are administered at Graves throughout the week between 9 am to 11 am and 1 pm to 4 pm based on appointments.
Graves will occasionally offer vaccinations on Saturdays depending on the number of appointments, the quantity of staffing and the availability of vaccine supply. Residents can schedule an appointment by calling the pharmacy at 343-2323.
Meanwhile, Flint Hills Community Health Center will have over 1,000 doses of the Moderna vaccine available for Thursday morning’s clinic from 8:30 am to noon at the Fairgrounds Anderson Building. The clinic may extend by the hour if there is enough demand. However, Public Health says the Health Center will not have a primary dose vaccination clinic next week. The agency is directing people who want shots next week to find other providers.
Also, Newman Regional Health continues offering vaccination clinics from 8 am to 4:30 pm Thursday and Friday at the hospital’s Conference Center.
