The program is designed to support the Kansas Education Systems Accreditation model by helping districts pinpoint where they want to focus improvement efforts. Districts can receive gold, silver, bronze or copper stars in quantitative areas like academic preparation for postsecondary education, high school graduation and postsecondary success. They can also get the same color stars for qualitative measures like social-emotional growth, kindergarten readiness, individual plans of study and civic engagement.
