More COVID-19 vaccinations will be available for residents ages 18 and older in Emporia this week.
Haag Pharmacy will have single-shot Johnson & Johnson vaccines available, and it’s changing its schedule from last week when the pharmacy had enough vaccines for clinics Monday through Friday. This week, the schedule is Thursday through Saturday, and pharmacy owner Amber Haag says curbside vaccinations are possible if people let staff know ahead of time.
Thursday and Friday clinics will be from 9 am to 6 pm at the pharmacy. The Saturday clinic will be from 9 am to 1 pm.
Flint Hills Community Health Center will have a primary dose clinic Thursday at the Fairgrounds Anderson Building. Moderna and Johnson & Johnson vaccines will be available, but there will only be 200 of the single-shot Johnson & Johnson doses available Thursday because of production issues last month. The Moderna vaccine supply is unaffected.
Newman Regional Health will have vaccination clinics through Friday this week from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm.
People can self-schedule for the Health Center clinic online at www.publichealth.lyoncounty.org. People can self-schedule for the Haag Pharmacy clinics at www.haagpharmacy.com. People can self-schedule for the Newman clinics by visiting Visit www.newmanrh.org/my-health-records.
The vaccinations continue with Lyon County reporting just under 4,200 confirmed cases since late March of last year. There are 27 active cases currently and 85 deaths over the course of the pandemic. Close to 24 percent of the county’s estimated population of 33,400 has been fully vaccinated and almost 45 percent has been tested for coronavirus.
