The Emporia State football team played their first of two scrimmages of the spring Saturday, Southeastern Oklahoma State outscored the Hornets 12-9.
Emporia State Coach Garin Higgins said there was good and some not so good.
Offensively starting quarterback Sophomore Braden Gleason completed 7 passes for 33 yards.
Sophomore receiver Dexton Swinehart caught 6 passes for 68 yards.
Sophomore linebacker David Johnson scored the lone touchdown for Emporia State on a pick 6.
Sophomore linebacker Jack Barger had 2 interceptions in the 1st quarter.
Clark Schoonover kicked a 33-yard field goal for Emporia States 1st score.
Southeastern Oklahoma State scored on a 43-yard pass play and a 10-yard run to take a 12-0 lead at halftime.
The Emporia State football team is scheduled to host Southwestern Oklahoma State next Sunday, April 18th.
