The Emporia State softball team was swept by Central Missouri in a doubleheader, losing 3-0 and 4-1 Friday.
In the 1st game, Central scored single runs in the 4th, 5th, and 7th innings. Emporia State managed 2 hits and stranded 4 baserunners.
In the 2nd game Emporia State struck first, Gabby Biondo scored on a ground out in the 1st inning.
Central tied the game with a run in the 2nd and added single runs in the 3rd, 4th, and 6th innings. Emporia State scored 1 run on 1 hit. Coach April Rosales says they have to get better at the plate.
The Lady Hornets host Lincoln Saturday afternoon with the first pitch set for 1 pm at the Trusler Sports Complex.
