Topeka Hayden swept the Emporia High softball team in a doubleheader Friday.
Hayden won the first game 11-0 in 5 innings. The Lady Spartans were shut out on 2 hits.
Hayden won the 2nd game 8-2. Emporia High scored 2 runs in the first on a double by Maddyn Stewart. Stewart would score on a groundout. Hayden would take the lead for good scoring 4 runs in the 4th inning and added 3 runs in the 6th.
Emporia High Coach Aaron Hammond said the youth of the team caught up with them.
The Lady Spartans are now 4-2 for the season. They are scheduled to host Topeka West on Monday.
