Habitat for Humanity is using disc golf to raise funds for upcoming projects Saturday.
The group’s second annual disc golf tournament, organized by Dynamic Discs, will take place at Hammond Park. Habitat Director Eric Kirby says the group has been busy with traditional projects and it’s now branching out.
The Brush With Kindness program helps with accessibility concerns or beautification needs. Kirby says there will be more such projects down the road so as many as 15 families can benefit per year instead of one.
Cost is $160 per team or $40 a player. Check-in will be at 8 am, with a clinic for new players at 9, a player meeting at 9:40 and a shotgun start at 10. The award ceremony is tentatively set for noon. Prizes are also available. More information is online at the Emporia Area Habitat for Humanity Facebook page.
