After a year off due to COVID-19, the annual Abate of Kansas District 12 Spring Fling Bike Show is returning to Emporia this weekend.
The 26th annual event will take place Saturday afternoon at the Lyon County Fairgrounds Anderson Building and is free to the public. COVID-19 mitigation measures will be in place including mandatory mask use and a change in the event’s layout to accommodate for social distancing.
Abate member Deb Fuller says the group is extremely excited the event is taking place this year, and apparently so is the local community.
The auction is scheduled to begin at 2:30 pm with several door prizes, including a custom fire pit courtesy of K&E Metals, up for grabs throughout the day. Doors will open to the public at 8 am with judging in a variety of categories scheduled to take place from 11 am to 4 pm.
