The Emporia State University Softball team will be holding a special blood drive this weekend to support a fallen teammate and raise awareness for a rare condition.
The blood drive will take place Friday at the Emporia State student recreation center from 10:30 am to 3 pm. ESU Softball Coach April Rosales says this event is very personal for the team.
The softball team is scheduled to play Central Missouri Friday and Lincoln Saturday. During those games, the team will be wearing teal jerseys and pink socks to help raise awareness of amniotic fluid embolisms.
